Virat Kohli IGNORED; Sunil Gavaskar Picks Rohit Sharma as Player to Watch Out During India-England T20 WC 2024 Semi-Final

Guyana: We are exactly a day away from the much-awaited India versus England T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final. This is an interesting clash for both the sides as England beat India in the semis a couple of years ago in Australia in 2022 T20 WC. So now, one believes that the Indian team would be raring to avenge that loss. Ahead of the game, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar hailed captain Rohit Sharma and reckoned he will be the player to watch out for in the game at Providence stadium.

“Very excited. Look, this format is very exciting. Very entertaining. You get to see so many shots that you won’t see in the longest format of the game. You get to see so many deliveries that you don’t get to see. So it’s a very exciting format, and the way the teams have been playing, particularly India against Australia, it was amazing!,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.

“Rohit Sharma, leading from the front, hitting those big sixes. Despite losing Kohli in the previous over, it just tells you the intent – the captain of the Indian team has. They gonna go out and try and maximise their abilities and win matches for the team,” Gavaskar added.

Despite Virat Kohli’s repeated failures in this tournament, he is likely to retain his spot at the top with Rohit and India are expected to play the same XI. India is the only side that is unbeaten till now in the ongoing tournament and they would hence start slight favourites against England.

India’s Predicted XI vs England: Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya (vc), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah
