Sarfaraz Khan CONSOLES His Emotional Wife in Heartwarming Gesture After Receiving Maiden Test Cap at Rajkot; Watch Viral VIDEO

Rajkot: It was a very emotional moment for Sarfaraz Khan’s father and wife, who were present at the Rajkot stadium on Thursday, to see the cricketer receive his maiden Test cap ahead of the third Test versus England. After Sarfaraz received the cap from Anil Kumble, he was there with his father and wife, who in tears. First, Sarfaraz’s father kissed the cap and then hugged his son. Sarfaraz then walked upto his wife and wiped the tears on her cheeks in an heartwarming gesture. It is a moment that is now being loved by fans.

Sarfaraz’s wife has been very supportive through his journey and hence her reaction was on expected lines. She seemed extremely emotional.

Sarfaraz went to his father after receiving the prestigious cap and then it got a little too emotional. His father held the cap and kissed it while he had tears rolling down his eyes.

Meanwhile, India has won the toss and have opted to bat first.

“We’ve made some changes, made four changes. Some injuries and some guys coming back from the last game. Two debutants. Siraj and Jadeja are back. Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar miss out. Looks a good pitch, better than the last two we’ve played on. Rajkot is known to be a good pitch but it’ll deteriorate as it goes. The guys have stood up and done the job for the team when it was needed. The next three Test matches will be as exciting as the first two. Need to keep our focus here and see how we can do well,” Rohit said after winning the toss.

Women’s hockey team leaves for Hangzhou Asiad

Bengaluru, 19 Sept. 2023: The Indian Women’s Hockey Team on Wednesday night left from Bengaluru airport for Hangzhou for the upcoming 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. India are placed in Pool A along with Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong China and Singapore and will open their campaign at the prestigious event against Singapore on 27th September 2023. Meanwhile, Japan, China, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia are placed in Pool B. The top two teams from each Pool will qualify for the Semi-Finals.

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team will once again be led by Captain Savita, with Deep Grace Ekka as her deputy.

Speaking ahead of the team’s departure, Captain Savita opened up on the team’s expectations from the tournament. “We have had a long and strenuous National Camp where we worked on all the areas where we need to improve. We have formulated our strategies as per our strengths and we have studied our opponents as well, thoroughly to understand their styles of play. We hope to have a good tournament and get positive results. Our target is to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics and so we are aware of the importance of the tournament and what we need to do to achieve our goals.”

The women’s team includes goalkeepers Savita and Bichu Devi Kharibam. Deep Grace Ekka, Ishika Chaudhary, Nikki Pradhan, and Udita form the defence line, while Sushila Chanu, Monika, Navneet Kaur, Neha, Nisha, Salima Tete, Sonika, and Vaishnavi Vittal Phalke constitute India’s midfield. Deepika, Lalremsiami, Sangita Kumari, and Vandana Katariya have been included in the team as forwards.

Meanwhile, Vice-Captain Deep Grace Ekka also spoke on the team’s composition and mood in the camp ahead of the departure. “The good thing for us is that we have a blend of experience and youth among our ranks. All the players are eager to display their best, and are in their best frame of mind to showcase their talents on the field,” she said.

“We know we have some strong teams in our pool, but all of us see this as an opportunity to showcase how much we have grown as a team and individuals over the past year. We know we would have to adjust to the surroundings quickly, and we are prepared to do that to ensure we can completely focus on our game,” she added. 

India will face Singapore on 27th September 2023 before taking on Malaysia on 29th September, Korea on 1st October 2023 and Hong Kong China on 3rd October 2023.

On 27th September 2023, India vs Singapore at 1015 hrs IST

On 29th September 2023, Malaysia vs India at 1600 hrs IST

On 1st October 2023, Korea vs India at 1330 hrs IST

On 3rd October 2023, India vs Hong Kong China at 0745 hrs IST

The matches will be aired live on Sony Sports Network.
