Guyana: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the greatest batters of the generation and hence they often get compared. The two cricketers enjoy a massive fanbase globally. Rohit and Kohli are different as individuals and that is no secret. While Kohli is aggressive, Rohit is calm and is the exact opposite of the former. Former India captain Kapil Dev has recently made a stunning remark on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the England match. Kapil believes Rohit does not show fake aggression like Kohli.
Kapil Dev said: “Rohit Sharma doesn’t show fake aggression like Kohli. He doesn’t play for milestones and always puts the team above himself.”
“He (Rohit Sharma) is not like Virat Kohli, he does not jump around,” said Kapil (translated from Hindi). “He knows his limitations, but within those limitations, he performs the best,” said Kapil, lavishing praise on Rohit.
“A big tick in favour of Rohit Sharma is that he keeps the entire team happy,” said Kapil. “There are many great players who play for themselves, take the captaincy for themselves, but not him,” he added.
Despite Virat Kohli’s repeated failures in this tournament, he is likely to retain his spot at the top with Rohit and India are expected to play the same XI. India is the only side that is unbeaten till now in the ongoing tournament and they would hence start slight favourites against England.
