HISTORY! USA STUN Pakistan in T20 WC 2024 Match in a SUPER OVER SHOOTOUT!

Dallas: It was a night of history for the USA cricket team in Dallas, Texas as they stunned Pakistan on Thursday in a T20 World Cup 2024 game via Super Over. USA won the game in a Super Over shootout by 5 runs in a Group A game. With the win, USA went top of Group A with two out of two. Pakistan have to take the blame for being indisciplined with their fielding in the Super Over in which they conceded 10 extra runs. And then with 20 to get of one over to win it, all Pakistan could muster was 14 runs.

Chasing 160 to win, the hosts got off to a brisk start with openers Mounak Patel and Steven Taylor. But then, Taylor perished for 12. Then Andre Gous and the USA captain stitched together a 78-run stand. But then, some good disciplined bowling got the Men in Green back in the game. Eventually, it was Aaron Jones heroics that helped the hosts push the game into a Super Over.

Asked to bat first, Pakistan got off to a disastrous start losing early wickets, but it was captain Babar Azam who played the anchor’s role to perfection to help his side post a decent 159 for seven. While Babar scored 44 off 43 balls, Shadab Khan was the aggressor. He hot a quickfire 40 off 25 balls. For the hosts, Nosthush Kenjige was the pick of the bowlers with three for 30 in four overs.
