Krunal Pandya Likely to Lead Lucknow Super Giants in Regular Captain KL Rahul’s Absence For IPL 2024 Match vs Delhi Capitals?

Delhi:
Multiple reports suggest that KL Rahul has not travelled with the team to Delhi and has actually been stripped of his captaincy. So, if that is the case – who leads the Super Giants versus the Capitals in today’s IPL 2024 match at the Arun Jaitley stadium? In all probability, if reports of Rahul are to be believed then there is a high possibility that Krunal Pandya leads the side in the game against the Capitals. Krunal has the prior experience of leading the LSG side in the past in IPL.

Rahul was at the receiver’s end of LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s public outburst following their humiliating defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 wickets. It was a major setback for the LSG as they dropped down in terms of net run-rate.

While it is still unsure whether Rahul will be directly joining the team on the match day (May 14), his absence on the travel day raised quite a few eyebrows. Rahul’s absence was visible when the right-handed batter was nowhere to be seen in a video put up by the franchise on their official Instagram profile

Meanwhile, the heated exchange has surely had an impact in the interiors of LSG. It is learnt that the players were advised to refrain from posting anything on social media. Even, the franchise themselves posted just once on May 12 since the incident on May 8. Notably, Goenka too restricted his comments section on Instagram following that incident, since he received all the backlash from social media.

It remains to be seen what exactly happens today in Delhi.
